Pastor and Minister

[Herb]

Pastor Herb Pinney

Meet Pastor Herb. He has over sixty years of ministry experience, with more than fifteen years in Las Cruces.

In his own words:

Agape Christian began with Herb and Melba in Las Cruces in a double wide on the east mesa. Today we are twenty-one years young and after a serious series of illness on my part we are rebuilding a strong Bible church. My preaching began the summer of 1951 as the Chaplain of Pepperdine Scout Camp in the coastal mountains of Southern California. In 1952 I began my under graduate college [studies] at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, NM. At the same time I began as youth minister under Dr. C.C. Crawford at the Socorro Christian Church.

The following sixty-three year brought marriage, a successful lapidary and geology business, the decision to be a “tent-maker” minister, ten children, a graduate degree in Theology and New Testament Christianity from Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO. Followed by building churches in Aztec, NM, Vidor, TX., landing in Las Cruces, NM.; while earning my living in the import car world.

Today at 81 and married to my wife of sixty-two years, I am the Senior Pastor of Agape Christian, Trustee of Spanish American Evangelistic Ministries and CEO/CFO of New Iberian Mission Association with high ranking primary and secondary schools in Guatemala along with Christian churches, a hospital and planning to build a area Bible Institute in 2016.

Agape Christian is an all peoples Christian Church that is Bible based and conservative in teaching
